The short version: we only hold what you send us, we use it to reply, quote and do the work, and we never sell it or share it. No cookies, no tracking, and visits are only ever counted as totals.
Who we are
W1 Digital is a trading name of Not Another Studio Ltd, a small design studio in the United Kingdom: company no. 12799774, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, registered in England and Wales. We are responsible for the personal data described on this page (the data controller). If you have a question about your data, or want it removed, email hello@w1digital.com.
What we collect, and why
If you send us a brief or an email. The brief on the contact page asks what you need, who you are and when you need it, then your name, your email address and anything you want to tell us about the property or business. An email holds whatever you put in it. We use this to reply, to give you a quote and, if you go ahead, to do the work. We use it for nothing else, and we won’t add you to a mailing list.
If you are just looking around. There is no sign-up and no tracking. We count visits to each page as totals, as described under Visitor numbers, and nothing we see says who you are.
Why we are allowed to hold it
The law asks us to say on what basis we hold personal data. For an enquiry, it is that you asked us for a quote, and we need your details to give you one. For a project, it is the agreement we make to do the work. Keeping records of our work afterwards rests on our legitimate interest in running the business properly, and on the law where it requires records.
Who can see it, and where it is kept
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it for advertising. These companies handle it on our behalf, under contract, and do nothing else with it:
- Vercel hosts this website. Like any web host, its servers see your internet address and browser details when a page loads, and keep short-lived logs to run and protect the service. Vercel is in the United States.
- Resend delivers the brief from this website to our inbox. It handles what you wrote in order to deliver it, and keeps a record of each delivery for up to 30 days, then deletes it. Resend is in the United States.
- Google runs our email (Google Workspace), so briefs and emails are kept in our inbox there.
If the brief can’t be sent directly, your own email app opens with it filled in instead, and it reaches us as an ordinary email.
How long we keep it
We keep emails, enquiries and project files as the studio’s records, and we don’t delete them on a schedule: past conversations and past work are part of how we run the studio, and clients often come back years later. If you would like your enquiry or your details deleted, email hello@w1digital.com and we will do it, keeping only what the law makes us keep, such as invoices.
Visitor numbers
We count visits to this website so we can see which pages get used, and we use the counts for nothing else. Vercel, the company in the United States that also hosts this website, does the counting for us. It uses no cookies. Each time a page opens, it records when, which page, the page you came from, your country, region and city, whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, and which operating system and browser you use.
To tell one visitor from another, Vercel makes a code from the request your browser sends as the page opens. Vercel says it does not keep a visitor’s session for good but throws it away after 24 hours, and that the counts are not tied to you or to your internet address. We only ever see totals, such as how many visits a page had this week. The basis for counting is our legitimate interest in knowing which parts of the website are useful.
You can stop your visits being counted with the switch below. It works in this browser on this device only, so do it on each one you use. Your choice is saved in this browser, so it is lost, and counting starts again, if this website’s data is cleared from your browser.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies. The only thing it keeps in your browser is your choice about visitor counting, if you switch it off, and that never leaves your device.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or ask us to stop using it. Email hello@w1digital.com and we will sort it out. If you think we have got something wrong, you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page.
